a bouquet to capture the eye

These flowers bloom tall big and yellow.  They sit upon four foot high stalks and though they rarely break from the trumpet form they show hints of their lineage.  The cross is Desert Icicle x Autumn Minaret.  Perhaps one day I will find the cross that will open these flowers up and free them from the trumpet shape.  Until then I will have fun trying.

The parents for this cross

And perhaps this is the sibling needed to open up and skinny down this seedling.  The flower form is flat open.   Which is good.  The flower is not quite as large as its sibling and it sits on a much shorter scape.  So the game of hybridizing continues.
