too long a day. nah – discard on that. too orange, not likely. too common – says who ? too spent a flower ? too much out of the ditch and along the fence ? too red an eye ? too close for comfort – really. too many excuses – double nah. or perhaps not creative enough ? too vein ? could there be more red veins in this ? or just too much delay before the picture ? … or pictures, 4. too beautiful. oh and it was just long enough a day in the northern hemisphere. the longest day of the season. happy solstice. too!
Too funny 😉 Happy Solstice, John. Too wonderful that we’re back to daylily season once again. I’ve been admiring them along the roadsides all day, too.
🙂
Does that mean that we are now sliding back into winter? I love the photo along the fence. The wagon wheel caught my attention and then I started noticing the flowers.
Stunning!!!!!!!
That fence is too fancy! Love all the flowers along the fence. I used to have an orange Day Lily, but it got old so needed to pull it out. I’ve not replaced it yet. Happy Summer to you too! 🙂
thanks. enjoy your summer !
I love day lilies but the down side is…. they don’t last! Just like life!
Yes and no. Daylilies do only last one day for each bloom. There are some that bloom more ( and thus a longer overall period of time ) and some that bloom less. There are also early season bloomers, mid season, and late season. If you look at perennials that bloom in the garden they are one of the longer lasting ones. They are a lot more impressive than just about any of the annuals. Perhaps it is summer that goes too fast.
Delightful.
