or is it forewishing ? when this cross was made this was not the planned, guessed, or even wished turn. one parent a lavender and the other a cream colored white. and so this is the way it went. fortunately the garden is my favorite location for foreguessing. three images, the parents and two of the seedling…

Simply beautiful!
Thanks Wendell !
The plant world–the deeper we look, the more beauty we find–your posts are example number one! Thank you for sharing the joy of discovery.
I am glady you enjoy the pictures. You are welcome.
I agree – I would never have thought that the yellow lily had lavender and creamy-white parents! Gardening is full of surprises!
Clare – you sure have that right. I think the lilies are more comfortable when they are surprising us.
Lovely. I always thought day lilies were only the white ornamentals you see in garden stores.
Just like children, the genes can always throw up surprises.
What is this ? Surprising children ! ? ! shocking ! 🙂
Now you’re certain there was no “mailman” flower who snuck his genes into the picture here? 😉
it could have been the bee lady – or some other bug. that theory has been circulated and it is quite possible. then again there are all those genes that were already there and we barely understand. i do like the question ! thanks David !
John:Beautiful color!
I swear when you are crossbreeding you never know what you will get with seeds.
The results are lovely.
You are right about not knowing. More often than swear i often exclaim. even when it is not exactly what i was imagining. nature has its own imagination. Thanks for the comment. and i am glad you enjoy the flowers!
