two tone

there are ‘edge no eye‘ daylilies.  and then there are ‘eyes and edge’ daylilies.  this one is the eyed variety.  the flower is called The Heavens Declare.  white and deep dark purple make a wonderful and dramatic contrast.  and just a small 6.5 inch 16.5 cm bloom to grab your attention.  variety is good.  it keeps things from getting boring.  two images

Night of the void – sorry it took so long to respond. It has been busy few days. Thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoy the flowers !

This is quite a strong-coloured lily. I really like it and like it being a smaller flower. Photographs don’t often give much of an idea of size; I appreciate you giving the bloom measurements or putting your hand in the picture to give us some idea of comparison. Thank-you John.

When looking at the flower a close up is nice. And a gauge for size doubles the nice. Because they do all look very similar on the screen until you have a sense of scale. You are welcome !

Now there should be several similar to this. It is out of Crazy Ivan and I don’t think Crazy Ivan is the first one like this either. I hope you find that it is good in your garden area.

Did an initial search and found a couple places – but going to the gardening center on Saturday to get my minerals for veggie bed prep – will look for both this and the Crazy Ivan cultivar (one site I looked at listed Crazy Ivan and American Icon in the parentage section, but it was more cream colored than the one you posted – ah well, the daylillies gifted to be 2 years ago seem to like it here, so sure whatever I end up buying will turn out okay. Thanks again for posting – my base motif for my place is White/Purple – so always on the lookout for perennials in those shades! 🙂
