not every flower has a traditional color.  not usual colors.  somehow when you put them in the garden next to the usual colors they do just fine.  and the two each end up complimenting the other one just fine.  six images…

There are some strong contrasts with the colors. The bright, very bright, yellow green throat and the dark eye. Then there are those murky grey colors of the rest of the petals and the red edging around the throat on the sepals. Glad you like it Cynthia !

Marcia have fun painting it ! Glad you enjoy it. It has a few hurdles to cross before it would go up for sale. It is a new seedling. And there is an observation period to find out both the overall quality of both the bloom and the plant. Another year or two and I should have a better idea. Then there is the mystic question of how fast the plant increases so there is enough to sell.

Dan, glad you like it. There are not too many daylilies or other flowers with that color combination. There might be a few orchids with a similar mix. However I don’t think too many would select or wish for a color combination like that. And now that it has come along I will gladly enjoy it.
