waiting for bloom 2016

if you are a fan of Monty Python you know the secret to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and nearly miss.  there is some sort of corollary that can be used while waiting for the new bloom season to start.  just as much tension on those pre-flight tries with much less bruising on the post-un-flight studies.  the blue eyed grass is doing its diminutive job.  lupines are displaying and cannot be missed.  there are daylily scapes sprouting here and there and there and there and there.  to borrow another quote – you just have to believe Pan.  so for another day we can look at seedlings from last year.  four images… the first is the parents.

My daylillies green/lush, no blooms yet appearing here in the Wild West of Colorado – but wouldn’t ya know – mauve/ivory bearded, tall stalk irises showed up in the bed of purple white just yesterday – Hmmm… Will take pics tomorrow to post – 🙂 But seriously! How do you keep up with the trends of Mother Nature?!? (And, for this newb… “How do ya know if they were there all along, just had the perfect conditions to reach for the stars this year or rabbit/squirrel planted their fall bounty in my non-fenced/open ‘permaculture area’ – – LOL Interested in answer, if there is one – BUT surely, I walked out today, after week of ‘head long run towards ‘doing'” and thought – wait a minute.. what’s going on in the iris/rhubarb bed?” LOL
