not so

not so late.  and not so tired.  gee i might even spell tired and tireder right tonight.  or not if poetic license abounds.  so can we get back to the flower and its parents ?  the cross is 13-011-A 12-0727-003 Monster x Lavender Branch) x Sky Captain.    so one parent is a seedling Monster crossed with another seedling that had the garden name of Lavender Branch.  the other parent is Sky Captain.  they look like this

11-0805-A Adeline Goldner x (Monster x Lavender Branch) img_5620 sbs Sky Captain and here is another image of last nights flower.  this one is numbered 13-011-A.   the A is a notation that there are siblings, in this case B an C.  more about those tomorrow.  three more images…

technical terms are just fine Dan. Not sure I could describe it better. I see where today’s flower is cup shaped. It is all part of what the over night and day time temps are and at what time I took the picture. That flower is cupped. And if you look at the previous day’s flower ( same plant ) I believe it is not so cupped and more flat. One of these days – next year – I will have to do a series of pictures over the course of the day. And try to show the start and progress of opening and perhaps even the progress of fading at the end of the day. One of those practical demonstration things. And perhaps a line of beverage containers coffee through beer to demonstrate proper hydration through the heat of the day. Thanks Dan !
