it is one thing to know

i will use the bird in the hand analogy.   this seedling still sits in last summer’s seedling bed.  unflagged.  mysterious.  waiting to be rediscovered.  so in some ways the bird in the hand analogy is the opposite.  this is the unrestrained bird in the bush.  knowing we hope to flag it next summer does not change the other answer.  beauty – the bird or the flower in the hand can only be held briefly.  it can be enjoyed.  it can be shared.  it cannot be locked up.  it can only be held gently for the shortest of moments.  trying to hold it too closely, too tightly only crushes beauty.  three images…
