moment to moment. daylily flowers last a moment. a day. in that time they burst open and display. they display for all of nature, the nectar gatherers, the pollen gatherers, the beauty observers. a gathering of sorts. each holds what bits they have gathered for various moments. and then in one way or another those bits drift away. at the end of the day the daylily’s biochemical clock chimes the end. as quickly as it comes it goes. no amount of light or water will stay its course. sometimes i wonder as we watch a flower is the flower in turn watching us ? watching my moment ? watching our moment ?
