and not so close. it is one thing to dash to the car and drive away and to claim to have seen the garden. much like seeing a work of art from the far side of a room across a milling crowd. sometimes i find myself on the other end of that situation. i want to capture an image of the garden or a flower and a milling crowd might as well have stood in the way. something obscures the view. it can be light whether too much or too little. or wind. or distance robs a flower of detail. or again distance fades and melts the color of the garden. some images leave me a wanting to go back and capture them again. a futile wish. and others have me thinking the image is not so bad…
