the cross is Witches Brew x ( Rajah x Purple Satellite. Rajah is a very early orange daylily. it is not quite skinny and spidery. Purple Satellite is a recent daylily and very skinny and spidery. the result was skinny and spidery on a shorter plant. it also had a lower bud count. that plant was combined with Witches Brew skinny spidery and a better bud count. one trait from here. another trait from there. a little bit of this. and a little bit of that.
I’m now picturing you over a cauldron, John, stirring away with a crazed look in your eyes.
Only the cauldron should be a new part of the look. Otherwise your judgement is highly suspect. PS look for the tiny bolts.
Uh oh.
Love the names. I planted a bunch of different varieties years ago, and now I can’t remember any of the names. I should have kept a notebook with the varieties in it.
Brenda – the name are half the fun. Thanks
Yes, I am sad I haven’t kept better track.
Don’t worry. Make up your own garden names and make your own fun.
A good idea. Thanks. 🙂
love this one! and the name, too 🙂
Oh I may just be naming that orange seedling too. Eventually I will have to put on my garden thinking/naming cap…
