this one started blooming sometime mid august. its sibling started several weeks earlier in july. and it is one of those things that you don’t sweat the small stuff and move on. eventually you get enough history that you know what it does from year to year and don’t worry what it might have done the first year. it is related to Volcan Fuego. and one parent of that plant is a species plant hakuunensis. it genes have been manipulated by nature and not so much by human kind. it is an area i like to explore. the color, the shape, the ruffles, and that it seems to be cooperative in setting pods those are all bonus points.
She’s a beauty. 🙂
