what i want changes with each different flower. when this cross was made Blue Lustre passed on its general color scheme. Ida Mae Norris gave the flower a round shape like its own. the new flower is lavender with an even lighter lavender ring around the eye. and it has a white throat. lavender flower and white throat is a keeper. at least until the next cross. then it is wait and see what is in the cards…
Ruffles and curls. Love it!
It is a pretty thing Dan. I made quite a few crosses with this one this summer. I have been crossing it with taller and skinnier bloom plants. We have been asking a very good friend to pick out and name a plant. She saw this one and said ‘I want it.’ Next spring there should be enough to divide it and send a piece to her garden. Glad you enjoy it.
This is like being witness to creation.
That is a pretty good explanation of July in the seedling bed John. Even with knowing the two parent plants from a cross there are always surprises seeing the results. It usually takes the better part of the month of July for all of the seedings to bloom so it becomes a very extended christmas.
I’ll bet. What a super hobby you have.
It is not just a hobby. It is a complete exercise and hydration program. Keeping busy in the garden all day requires frequent hydration adjustment points. Otherwise it could get dangerous out there.
Okay, okay. You are a hydrationist and bloomologist.
