the snow came last night. and today. and tonight again. it has really made up for the delay. so far about 8 inches 20 cm of the stuff. i should add it was preceded by rain. so where it meets the ground and trees and such there is slush. heavy slush. slush that puts snow blowers to the fail test. slush that makes shoveling slow. slush the makes flame out. pictures of the flame bush after and before. and a white daylily that is decidedly from the warmer days of summer… and the 8 inches and Give Me Eight is a coincidence. one that i will not alter. energy needs be saved for the shovel…
The white flower is beautiful. Just as we had an unusual super warm fall, we are having a warm winter. It was in the low 80s today and again I spent most of my day outside enjoying the warmth.
I am glad you got some good outside time. I will survive this. Summer will return in about 6 months. And spring will be back sooner. Glad you enjoy Give Me Eight. Be well Lauren !
Thank you
so beautiful… With snow and without snow… amazing. In here not yet… but cold. Thank you dear John, stay safe and in warm… Love, nia
Beautiful flower. The snow, well, that’s another topic for discussion but definitely not before coffee and checking the weather to see if by chance it might melt before the shovel is needed. 🙂
The one saving grace of snow it that it can be beautiful!
The flower is beautiful, especially with the non-solid drops on it. I hope the flamed out bush survives. That kind of snow is the worst to deal with.
The temps are supposed to bounce back up today and the next couple of days. I am hoping that the heat from the ground will make the ice removal fairly easy. And then there is the ripped off tree limb clean up. For now I will just enjoy the sun on the snow.
Is it hot cider time yet?
So nice to have a lovely flower pic to look at when the snow flies.
Thanks John. There certainly was enough snow here to justify it.
Eight inches is enough. Of course then there is the Lake Erie effect.
Agreed that snow is it’s most lively with a cup of coffee by the fire.
Although I do have neighbors who enjoy shovelling. I prefer to stomp it down on a good walk in the woods 😊
That walk in the woods does sound better.
Awww…poor bush. No snow here. But the steady night temps are around 64. And we get a weird drizzle-y fog that has a name but I don’t know what it is. It’s what causes the lovely rainbows in the mountains. White flower is lovely. 💕
