look for tonight’s flower. know when to stop looking. know enough that the picture was not posted this past summer. at least as much as WordPress search can find. and in most cases that is good enough. this one is a red orange star. skinny, pinched, and twisted with a yellow and green throat. a flower that holds new mysteries and old mysteries. and that waits to be explored with new combinations. different shadings, longer petals depending on this and the other plant all sorts of changes are possible. possible. and until those crosses are made and new flowers bloom one never knows what might be. and so it goes from one might be to another might be…
The petals are quite unusual, John. VEry pretty.
The names given to this group of daylilies are ‘spiders’ and ‘unusual forms’. This one happens to be both. Spider – long skinny petals. Unusual Form – twisty, pinchy, curly. Glad you like it. Thanks Roberta !
It looks svelte and ready for action!
At the moment it is sleeping soundly and waiting for next summer’s action. Still yes, yes, yes to svelte and ready for action. Thanks Pam !
I love the colours, should be so exciting…I mean to plant them and wait for to see… Thank you dear John, Love, nia
Planting seeds is a 2 or 3 year wait to bloom in our part of the country. And since I plant seeds usually every year that takes the edge right off the wait. Seeing what the new plants look like is a month long period of gift receiving in July. Very exciting. Glad you enjoy the colors nia ! love.
yes when I read you now, I can understand how exciting that I thought, more than this… I always enjoy, I wish(ed) to have a garden with full of flowers… Love, nia
