nearly. almost. just a little hyperbole. the image is from last summer. on july 26. the flower’s name is Autumn Minaret. it is one of the earliest daylilies in terms of introduction. the registration year shows 1951. but it just might have pre-dated the registration list. it can be 66 inches 168 cm tall. back then flower size was not recorded. it is considered a mid to late season daylily. and i have used it in a lot of crosses here. i like old genes that are close to species wild. i also like old jeans with a bit of holes in the knees.
