this is one of the plants i have crossed with Stella’s Ruffled Fingers. it does not bloom as early as Stella’s Ruffled Fingers. however once it does start blooming it does rebloom. so it is a good match for rebloom. together they have produce a very small reblooming seedling. Plenteous is a mid size short flower. it grows 23 inches 58 cm high and has a bloom 5 inches 13 cm. all three flowers are shown…

Very nice family, John.
Thanks Dan. I was not expecting the seedling to be littler than both parents. Getting down to photograph it and to make new crosses is ‘fun’. The getting back up part is the ‘fun’ challenge part.
The cross, for me, has some lovely qualities of both parents. I’d live to see two more crosses: this cross with each of the parents, to see if a bit of the original colour can be coaxed back.
Chris the seedling 14-005 is shorter than both parents and I believe has a smaller bloom than both parents too. I need to measure both. I would put the height about 18 inches 45.7 cm and bloom size about 3 in 7.6 cm. I think Stella’s Ruffled Fingers (SRF) has been crossed back into 14-005. I will have to look if Plenteous has been crossed back. It is possible I have tried these crosses and it did not set seed. Some plants do not easily set seed when crossed back like that. I do know that the seeds from these crosses are not the greatest as far as germination goes. Not impossible but they are low on germination. Glad you like the flower. Thanks
You must have wonderful records, going back many seasons.
I am not sure I would call them wonderful. Just enough to mostly help keep things straight and be able to keep track a little bit. When it come down to it the records are a bit of a haystack to sort out questions such as yours. The records are a combination of my memories, daily photos with some annotations, a spread sheet listing the location of plants both named and seedlings, and a master list of seedling numbers. All of which are constantly in motion and needing updates. Wonderful – almost but not quite. They are helpful sometimes yet there are gaps so they do not answer all my questions. So they do give me a semblance of comfort and control. Thanks Chris.
“Oh, Plenteous?”
“Yes, Stella.”
“What a lovely blossom you have.”
“Ruffle it with your fingers.”
funny 🙂
Glad you liked it. 😁
Thanks Gradmama
Stella really got around, didn’t she? Gorgeous girl! Maybe wonder-half-ful? I love this pink/melon combo of colors. BTW I haven’t checked my collection of seeds, less than a dozen plants. They should be fine, I didn’t seal them up too tightly when I thought they were dry enough to store them. Maybe I should check them.
John your posts really are a bright spot on the cold days. Can always count on you to come up with a winner like Stella and her Fellas. tee hee
