the summer clock is set to goofy. late season daylilies are blooming now. and it is just the start of august. the lates are early this year. there ought to be clowns… that tall orange flower is on a 60 inch 152 cm scape. yes it is tall. meanwhile i am behind schedule getting this year’s seeds planted. the seedling bed is just being cleared. and we will see how daylilies like being planted – seeds that is – in august. first the beds need to be trenched around the edges. after three years tree roots have crept in and they need to be cut back. otherwise the seedling beds will be nothing but tree root beds. and that is not going to happen. a sharp shovel will trim them back. some of those roots are the size of my thumb and a little bigger…

Is it OK that I have garden envy?
Yes. I get it from time to time too. Thanks Lauren.
Sorry nature is getting ahead of you, John. But I have confidence. Your garden looks lovely.
You now are at the root of the problem. Might need some trimming shears too.
