not a daylily. this is a surprise lily. the leaves grow in the late spring early summer. then the leaves die away. and now in early august the flowers alone come up from the ground. they are small and lavender. and at the tips of the petals some are the softest sky blue. there is no extra charge for the raindrops…

surprises are wonderful, and this one, a beauty
The sky blue tips of the petals blow me away. Glad you enjoy it beth !
Beautifil John!
A very pleasant surprise indeed!
A lovely surprise, John.
They are they are.
are these “Naked Lady” lilies, John?
I think that is another name for them. Sounds right.
I don’t have any left, but my daughter still owns the original house and property, and she has them here and there. The new people down the road still have some of the naked ladies coming up in the original patch.
Amaryllis Belladonna One of our neighbors had a large patch of naked ladies, and she gave me several bulbs one time. We still have them next door at my daughter’s place.
