I sort of like the “mango” description. Actually orange won out again this year for the first and last Lily to bloom. My lily-growing pretty much was a bust this year, I’m debating whether I should move my bulbs (scapes?) or are scapes what comes up from bulbs?

I would only move them if there was a place with better sunlight. they need 6 hours or more sun to do well. It can be any combination of early, midday, and evening sun.

The bed gets all day sun, facing SE, sort of confined to the corner by the front deck. The few blooms I had this year were lovely, but the season didn’t last long. I wonder if it was too dry. I finally did water them, but it was too little and too late I think. A lot of the little buds dropped off or got knocked off by whatever. I’m thinking of moving some to the bed that borders the front walk, about three feet away. Still full sun, not even the little shade from the porch railing. btw, my knock-out roses that share the lily bed are coming back, and they are very promising.
