this one has been a keeper since the day it bloomed. where it will land now is another story. land it will at some other flower’s expense. i will need to find spots for it and the other flowers flagged in the second review bed. and i will have time because six of them are still blooming. an several others have seed pods ripening. so those that have their seed pods already harvested will move first. and then we will work our way down the line…

This one is definitely a keeper, what amazing colours.
To me it looks so different from its parent and siblings. However when I start to compare them it shares the basic description. Light petals with a darker eye. The parent and siblings are white with a purple eye. This one I would describe as a pinkish white with a red purple eye and then throw in the veins. And overall it still strikes me as a vastly different look. Its parent is of Silent Sentinel – https://aneogarden.wordpress.com/2020/05/11/silent-sentinel/ Glad you enjoy it roberta. Thanks. and yes it is a keeper.
The parent is also lovely, but I prefer pink.
When and how do you pollinate and when do you consider that you have obtained a fairly stable variety.
Is your blog for specialist scientists and are you one of them? Publications?

Michele the blog is for fun and for sharing a flower for anyone who might need one. So in general it is non scientific. Though the scientific does creep in from time to time. As for when I pollinate part of it depends on the weather and temperature. The temperature needs to be under 85 fahrenheit or 29.4 celsius. It needs to be dry, that is not raining. Rain destroys pollen and renders it useless. Also it takes an hour or so for the pollen capsules to dry after they open each morning before the pollen is ready to use. So the pollen can be applied anytime those conditions are met. As for a ‘stable variety’ mainly that comes from observation that usually takes several years of observation. Thanks Michel !
Thanks,John, to tell me about what you do . Very interesting.
Always happy to reply Michel !
Since space is at a premium I can see their little hands in the air shouting, “Choose me.”
Now you have me thinking of the locker scene in Men In Black. And it is too early in the morning for three finger amnesia. At least until the minimum coffee dosage is applied. Happy Labor day John.
Thank you, John. Happy Labor Day to you.

Happy this one made the ‘save’ list – I confess the washes of colors on fat leaves are, still, overall, my faves – 😀
If they were all skinny or fat there would would be no contrast or choice. Both of which are very good things. And I have yet to find a skinny flower that does what this one does so well. Glad you find joy in this one !
So glad this one made it! It reminds me just a bit of Just Plum Happy, in the coloring. Just a bit.
I cannot imagine how hard it is to eliminate some, except I definitely understand finite space.
When I grow up – lol – in my crossing skills, that is, I suppose I will get that experience. For now, the pollinator seedlings will have to start going up north – next year. At least that’s the plan. For now 🙂
