this daylily is about as pail a yellow as one can get. some oranges and yellows are so bright they over power both the camera and the eye. the color is so strong it starts to mask the detail. the flower is head towards pure color and little else. a great color to scream across the garden above all other colors. and up close it is so strong one’s eyes are quickly drawn to their weaker, no not weaker – more detailed neighbors. there is a place for both in the garden. and together they make the trip through the garden an ongoing visual experience…
