snow brings blue sky

the morning after the snow and everything is blanketed in a heavy wet spring snow.  still tonight there are people without power.  heavy snow and power lines just do not go together.  on the ground in the garden the crocus and daffodils are patiently waiting for the sun to come back.  little circles of melt right around the plants.  and since it is nearly spring there is already enough warmth in the ground and the sidewalks and concrete melt away the snow on their own.  nine images…

after sun comes rain

yes the rains came back today.  so while we look at the memories and flowers from last summer know that the sky was blue for two full days.  the crocus drank the sunshine to their full.  and they shared bounties of nectar with the bees.  ten images…

there goes the rain

it was seriously grey overcast this morning.  the weather said zero chance of rain.  i guess they meant later.  as i drove off to work it started to mist and then drizzle.  it may have just followed me to work and left the garden alone.  this afternoon the clouds were replaced by blue skies.  and it did not seem to have hurt the flowers.  though the moisture may have done in the pollen.  maybe.  it does not hurt to try a few crosses.  perhaps it did stay dry.  and the garden looked great this afternoon.  the flowers were not faded by the rain.

enjoy the day and find a picture

get upp early.  enjoy a good breakfast.  go to Red Cross and donate platelets.  return home and see clear blue skies and temps in the 40s farenheit.  go for 3 hour walk.  short break.  go with wife on 1:45 walk.  try keep up with wife.  repeatedly fall behind.  pass out till now.  find pictures that are not blood root.  everything is 2-3 weeks late.  show other pictures.  find daylily picture.  call it a night.  so here are the not blood root pictures.  something that is the smallest flower ever seen poking from the leaf litter.  and a few and i do mean just a few Colt’s Foot flowers.  and no the daylily is not blooming here today.  just a few crocus are blooming.  no daffs yet either.  and it was one pretty blue sky day !  and yes we are still looking at Smoke Scream seedlings…
