some of it makes sense

time with the two youngest granddaughters – pure unadulterated chaos of the finest vintage.  with large doses of ultra short term focus.   interrupted by changing out one  quick install bathroom faucet with a new one.  replacement parts.  sure.  the bathroom faerie took the weekend off.  no where in the instructions does it call them quick de-install.  for respite a couple hours of quiet time in the garden mulching.  followed by the return of chaos, a bit of a movie, bed time books and somehow a three year old who can go to sleep in the same room with her older sister.  then again it could be me who is dreaming.   quiet as a mouse – sssshs grandpa !  six images…

or was that 132nd bloom to the edge ?

what edge ?  chaos.  while there is some order chaos is definitely one of mother nature’s favorite edges.  so follow the wandering camera as it follows the random pattern of bloom through the garden.  a swath of overgrown larkspur waiting to be thinned to a manageable amount.  left to its own it would own this section of the garden and crowd out everything else.  a clump of Stella’s Ruffled Fingers putting on an early burst of bloom.  something purple with a creamy eye.  a red on red seedling with dark red eyes.  five images…

thinly veiled

yes.  and absolutely no allure.  that is unless one is drawn to chaos.   the garden is nature.   and given a moment here and an influence there it soon will surface.  sometimes even a change of camera angle will reveal upheaval and noise where a moment an angle ago there existed solitude and peace.  three images, or is it four ?  excuse me while i sprint for safer ground…

dos

do go into the garden.  do find a flower.  do share.  do inspire.  dos with caution.   do take the noise and chaos and hate of the world with caution and balance.  do go back to a quiet place to reflect.  do hold onto hope. do hold onto belief.  do hold onto kindness and care.  three images…

a dash of chaos

pardon my misguided optimism.  there is a slight miniscule imperceptible chance that it is more than a dash of chaos.  i try to keep track of what plants and seedlings are in the garden.  and what plants have made it here to the blog.  there are plants that manage to evade that purpose.  when they are found they hopefully make their way here.  such is the case tonight.  Chesapeake Light has been here a year or two.  and if it is not too crowded by its neighbors and it is taken with our garden and clime should grow taller than that fence behind it.  it should also have more branching and flowers than it has shown in its short time here.  these are ifs that may come to be.  and not completely influenced by the plant.  my crowded garden and the northern Ohio climate do have an influence.  so we will watch what Chesapeake Light does in the coming years.  and think on what might be a good cross.  perhaps Starman’s Quest would combine to make some very interesting seedlings.  the two plants share some physical traits yet come from different genetic lines.  i will have to put that note into the anti-chaos note storage unit for next summer.  three images…
