a perfect day

this was taken yesterday afternoon.   just imagine where you might need to be to take this picture.  the leaves are sweet gum tree, Liquidambar_styraciflua.

apple blossom

most of the blossoms have gone to white.  however before they open they look like this.  apple blossoms…   unopened and opened.

 

anemone

this is one of the wild flowers from the weekend.  this one defines delicate.  simple white blossoms and little green leaves that are hardly bigger than the flower.  the stems – well they are hardly there at all.  enjoy

leaves well enough alone

these are lupin leaves.  they are just as enjoyable as the flower spikes that will come along in a few weeks.   –  well it looks like i need to study the time release update process !

hickory ?

sometimes leaves can rival flowers for beauty.   i could repeat it for emphasis.  i will pretend it happened.  these images are from the metropark a week ago Saturday.  back when the old daffodil revealed itself.  these are from saplings along the trail.  they are fascinating.  i will have to go back and make a better identification, though i suspect they are hickory.  that is unless there is some trickory about…
