each year brings new excitements. it might only be a slight improvement. still it is better than it was. the flower is a little bigger. the plant is a little taller. it is a solid red. it is bud building. that means as long as it is warm, there is enough rain, and the plant has enough nutrients that new buds form and bloom is extended. and this is enough to be a good thing. three images…
no it is not a self inflicted award. though it is self inflicted. and you need not speak to your optometrist about these green ribbon visions you have been experiencing. there is a good reason ( at least to me ) for the ribbons. they are flag tape with crosses marked on them. why green ? well the green is only mildly obnoxious image wise and somewhat blends with the foliage. and it does not confuse the hummingbirds into wasting time and energy looking for nectar with other brightly colored tapes. though i do believe they are smarter than that, i would rather not waste their precious time. the prize for all these green ribbons is the occasional ripening seed pod. oh and the gorgeous model posing next to the seed pods would be Pack Hunter. hmmm how did that model muscle her way to center stage…
now for a bit of almost equal time with the camera… seed pod, and a still overly agressive model….
