this one will make more skinny flowers…

or both. flowers usually are just flowers. that is until the garden fairies get involved. and of course humans wander into the garden. then things get even stranger. if you so care you are welcome to join in the frivolity. is it a hug, giggles, a pirouette, or something else ?… be advised there might be no wrong answer…
when spinning the wheel of chance one never really knows what combination of genes two plants will bring to the game. in this contest between pink and purple pink won out. and purple was vanquished. first the seedling and then the two parents…
is this half a step back ? or half a step forward ? i am sure i won’t know until there is that next step. it is a cross of barely stirred genetics with long and skinny petals then crossed again to long and skinny petal genetics. so pictures of parents are in order. first the seedling. then some of the parent plants. the cross is 18-023-(11-0730-a-desert-icicle-x-autumn-minaret)-x-14-123-b (10-073-smoke-scream-x-cerulean-star) x (12-0619-004 (black-plush-x-trahlyta)-x-wind-frills). and relax. if you find this confusing do not worry. i am just as perplexed and confused. this collection of flowers only gives me a moment of clarity before the journey dissolves back into pure and unadulterated chaos… well beauty and chaos…
and pink. the cross is (Stella’s Ruffled Fingers x Plenteous) x Siloam David Kirchoff. first the seedling and then the parentage. this picture was taken on july 28 last year. there is some rebloom. a brown spent earlier bloom scape can be seen just above the flowers. just how good the rebloom is will be measured again this summer…
this one is tall. it has two of my favorite plants as parents. i have made crosses with it. however at the moment there are no seedlings from it growing in the garden. there are at least two crosses waiting to be planted… correction there are several seedlings growing here. i just need to remember to search for it using all of its monikers, both 10-073 Cerulean Star x Smoke Scream and Navigator’s Light…
