well if yesterday’s flower was a blush this one is a rouge. and not at all subtle. and that is just fine. Some crosses go in directions I do not expect. the parents of this cross were two plants that did not have particularly strong branching. Not bad, just not strong. John Sheehan is listed with a bud count of 18 and 4 branches. Its big 9 inch (23cm) flowers do a lot to counter balance any gaps in branching and bud count. The other parent is a seedling, Wild One x Autumn Minaret left me with the same impression on branching. the cross was not about branching. it was lets find out cross. a small orange flower crossed with a large dark flower. and I like the results, both the flower and the branching. and branching is not everything. though sometimes it is a nice bonus. so without further delay, the branching, the rouge, and a close up.
then this must be rouge
