both flowers tonight are descended from Stella de Oro. it is the daylily that is planted all over. it is a small yellow reblooming daylily. it is in gardens both home and commercial space all over. it may be more planted than the orange ditch lilies to be found along roads where ever daylilies are grown. i grow Stella’s Ruffled Fingers the pink daylily here tonight. in my garden it grows better than the Stella de Oro i see growing all around me except in my garden. i do not grow Stella de Oro. if you look at the clump image of Stella’s Ruffled Fingers there are twenty of thirty bloom scapes. this plant is going to bloom and bloom and bloom some more. there are lots of Stella’s Ruffled Fingers kids in the garden. no they do not all rebloom as good as their parent. they do carry the genetics that make rebloom possible. the picture with the rabbit shows a line of eight or so plants from this line of breeding. they are all part of why there is so much early bloom in the garden. there are about 20 plants to choose from to work from to work towards early and continuous bloom. it is going to be fun finding the combinations that will move this forward. there will be more to bloom in the coming days. and if you look back the last four days you will see Stella’s Ruffled Fingers aka SRF in those pictures. oh and most of these flowers are on the small side. many are under 19 inches 48 cm tall and bloom around 3.75 inches 10 cm.
