this is one of the last daylilies in the garden to start blooming. and even though there are not as many choices what to cross with it that is the fun. the challenge. what will the late season garden look like if this flower has its way ???
Deborah this is not a ‘ditch lily’. It blooms late July into September. It is from another hybridizer who worked with species plants among other things. I have made some crosses with it and I am observing the results. Crossing a late daylily with an early or midseason daylily can give mixed results in the bloom season of the seedlings. Thanks
The sweet soft stillness of solitude makes it a beauty
Better late than never! This is the color of the daylilies in our yard.

A foretelling of Halloween
Surely as dependable as other portents!
I enjoy seeing this when our ground is covered in white. Love the orange color!
This is close to the dalilies in our yard.
